Goostrey Women's Institute
Guest Speaker, classes, outings and sports activities Goostrey W.I., formed in 1921, has always contributed to village life, entering the Rose Day celebrations and donating gifts to the village to mark their special anniversaries. These include display boards in the village hall, a weather vane at the sports field and the beautiful wrought iron village sign on the Bog Bean. At present, there are 76 members who attend meetings in the village hall on the third Wednesday of each month when they enjoy hearing speakers on a wide variety of topics. Members also play bowls, darts, go on outings and attend classes. New members are always welcome. Belonging to the Women's Institute movement, which is non party political and non sectarian, gives members opportunities to make new friends and learn new skills as part of the largest women's organisation in Great Britain. Special Activities - Stall at Rose Day, Biannual shows, Cheshire Show exhibitions.
