Goostrey Homewatch

Homewatch is an information network which channels messages about crime, anti-social behaviour and crime prevention between neighbours and the Police and Borough Community Safety organisations. It is sponsored by the Parish Council, free to join and may offer home insurance benefits.

Most people keep an eye on their neighbours' property at holiday times or if they are disabled or elderly and the scheme links groups of good neighbours. One of a group is a co-ordinator and receives and sends messages by telephone to a small list of other co-ordinators and the Police Watch Officer at Northwich. By this means warnings of potential trouble can be passed to householders (such as distraction burglaries) or to the Police (such as suspicious behaviour) and the whole village quickly alerted.

The current list of co-ordinators is being reviewed and will be re-issued shortly. If you are interested in joining the scheme please phone the Chief Co-ordinator, Jonathan Robinson on 01477 535487 or contact him via e-mail: jon.robinson@goostrey.info.
