PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER
AUGUST 2006
GARDENS OPEN DAY
The Gardens Open Day took place on 2nd July with 9 gardens being open to view. This year, the rain, hail and thunder managed to hold off until quite late in the afternoon! The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who took part, the organisers, the visitors and especially the hosts for their hard work in preparing the gardens and giving everyone such a warm welcome.

A magnificent £140 was raised by the sale of maps and by the sale of refreshments and plants at the venues. Donations are being sent to the two chosen charities, Barnardos and Macmillan Cancer Relief.
CRIME & VANDALISM
The Parish Council was extremely concerned to learn of a recent incident of vandalism at a house on Main Road. Paint was poured over a car and insults daubed on a garage door. Although Goostrey is, statistically, one of the safest areas in one of the safest boroughs in Cheshire the Council would encourage us all to be vigilant and not hesitate to report any suspicious circumstances to the Police. The phone numbers for the Police Community Action Team can be found on the back cover of the Parish Magazine.
SPEED WATCH
Another call for volunteers to take part in Speedwatch activities!
If you are concerned about vehicles speeding through the village and could spare a couple of hours occasionally, please contact the Parish Clerk. A short training session and then operating the speed checking equipment, together with other team members, as and when convenient to you is all that is required.
CONTACTING THE PARISH COUNCIL
