PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER
APRIL 2006
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
A reminder that the 2006 Annual Parish Meeting will take place on Tuesday 25th April at 7.30 in the Village Hall. The Parish Council hopes that as many Goostrey residents as possible will attend.

In addition to the normal business there will be presentations by:

Helen de Lemos, Cheshire County Council's Waste Strategy Manager
Jonathan Robinson, the Goostrey Homewatch Co-ordinator
Chris Mallet, the Goostrey Tree Warden.

Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served after the meeting.
DOG FOULING
Unfortunately, it seems necessary to raise this subject again. First of all, though, a big thank you to those responsible dog owners who do clear up after their dogs.

There is still a problem on Village pavements, on footpaths and in and around the Graveyard. Please, please clear up any mess your dog makes and remove it. The growing numbers of little plastic parcels in trees, bushes and verges are unsightly and non-degradable.

Please do not leave dogs to roam loose as they could and do foul in the most inconvenient places with no one to clear up after them.

To help with this problem, the Parish Council has requested three more dog waste bins. These will be sited in the Manor Avenue area, near the footpath through the cemetery and on Hermitage Lane.
OVERHANGING TREES & BUSHES
Once again, the Parish Council respectfully asks all residents who have properties with public pavements and paths at their boundaries to make sure that all overhanging branches are removed, at least to above head height, and that hedges are cut back sufficiently so as not to encroach onto pavements, making them too narrow to negotiate.
