PUBLIC FORUM
The member of the public reported that the British Legion has enforced a ban on smoking at its events in the Village Hall.

There were no Declarations of Interest registered.
01.06.2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for Absence were received from Cllrs.Fallon & Henley
01.06 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF 13TH DECEMBER 2005
Resolved to accept the Minutes of the Meeting of 13th December 2005 as a true record and to take them as read.
01.06.4. COUNTY MATTERS
In the absence of Cty. Cllr. Oliver, there were no County Matters reported.
01.06.5. BOROUGH MATTERS
Cllr. Kolker reported that he had raised the issue of Parish Councils not being made aware of Licensing Applications
with Anne Winterton, M.P. who undertook to pass this on to the appropriate Government department.
01.06.6. COMMITTEE MEETING REPORTS
AMENITIES: There had been no meeting since the last Parish Council.
FINANCE: There had been no meeting since the last Parish Council.
VILLAGE HALL: There had been no meeting since the last Parish Council but Cllr Sewell reported that the microphones and
extension lead were now available for use.
01.06.7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
Cllr. Leake took the Meeting through Planning Report 128.
01.06.8. PAYMENT SCHEDULE NUMBER 01.06.
Resolved to accept Payment Schedule 01.06.
01.06.9. CLERK'S REPORT
The Clerk referred to the items in Appendix 01/06. With regard to item a) Cllr Owen
recommended that a meeting should be arranged with Geoff Allen and that the Clerk should request confirmation of
receipt of the Council's letter and registration of the Parish Plan.
The Clerk then tabled the following additional correspondence which had been received since setting the Agenda:
a). From St Luke's Parish Church a donation of £72.70 being 50% of a collection made at the annual Plough Service.
The Clerk was asked to send a letter of acknowledgment and thanks.
b). From Cheshire County Council scheduling the Director of Childrens' Services Report of School Governing Body Briefings,
this being passed to the Chairman.
c). From the Cheshire Association of Local Councils, an Agenda and Proposed Constitution of the Cheshire Forum of M6 Councils.
Cllr Ball confirmed that he had also received a copy.
d). From Mr John Sewell, The Old Vicarage, Goostrey, a letter expressing his concern about the debris left on the village
roads as a result of mechanical hedge cutting which frequently damaged bicycle tyres. The Clerk was asked to clarify the
situation with Highways and also to raise the general issue of the cutting of hedges in the village, particularly along
Main Road.
e). From Dr Paul Howarth, Whirlwind, Hermitage Lane, Goostrey, a reply to the Council's letter to him regarding layering
of the hedge on the boundary of his property at the corner of Hermitage Lane and Main Road. Dr Howarth raised many points
about traffic safety to which the Clerk was asked to reply, the matter to be deferred to a later meeting.
f). News from Holmes Chapel Library that it will be closed for 3 months from 25th February making alternative arrangements
for the collection of Planning Applications necessary, Cllr Kolker to raise with the Borough Planning Committee.
01.06.10. HIGHWAYS MATTERS
There were no Highways Matters on the Appendix but Cllr. Richardson reported that there had been no reply from Inspector
Jones about weight limits but it was thought that Cllr Henley may have had such a reply.
The Clerk was asked to contact James Wood of Joint Highways to report the poor condition of the surface at most road junctions,
the edges along Bomish Lane, pavements in Brooklands Drive and the steps at Shearbrook Bank which are dangerously slippery.
01.06.11. PARISH ARCHIVIST
There was no further information on this item in the absence of Cllr Henley but Cllr Ball stated that he had downloaded
census details from the internet for the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
01.06.12. CHAIRMAN'S BALL
The Chairman expressed concern about low ticket sales but would gather more information in the next few days.
01.06.13. SPEED REDUCTION EQUIPMENT
Cllr Salmon reported that a training session had been arranged for Sunday 15th January and that 13 sites had been
identified of which 4 will be recommended for assessment by the Police.
01.06.14. BOOTHBED LANE PLAY AREA
There was nothing further to report on this item.
01.06 15. QUALITY STATUS
The Chairman stated that she had nothing further to report, her meeting with Chalky White now to take place in February.
01.06.16. G.Y.P.P.
There was nothing further to report on this item, preparation of the Planning Applications now being in the hands of Borough
Cllr Kolker and Mr Roger Bennett, Chairman of G.Y.P.P.
01.06.17 MINOR ITEMS & ITEMS FOR THE NEXT AGENDA
Cllr Richardson reviewed the document 'Configuration of NHS Ambulance Trusts in England' and outlined the views of the
three local PCT's which he will draft in a letter for the Clerk to respond.
01.06.18. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
It was confirmed that the date of the next Meeting would be 14th February 2006
01.06.19. CLOSURE OF MEETING
The Chairman closed the Meeting at 8.55pm.
PUBLIC FORUM
The member of the public reported that buses were leaving early from the Bank View stop, the Clerk being asked to raise this
matter with the Bus Company.
